Primary Care Medical Assistant

Support patients in office with duties such as rooming patients, obtaining medical history, and taking vital signs. Coordinate care and support extended care team efforts to improve outcomes and patient experience.

What You Will Do

Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Assist NP with health assessments and in clinic visits. Facilitate and support virtual provider encounters.

Requirements

• Certified MA or minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical primary care setting
• Experience in a primary care/outpatient clinic setting is strongly preferred
• Certified MA or phlebotomy certification strongly preferred
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and basic pharmacology
• Ability to accurately interpret provider documentation, diagnostic orders, and treatment plans
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal
• Previous experience assisting or providing care to the adult-geriatric patient population is preferred
• Prior wound care and foot care experience is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model
• Previous experience working in an EMR system - ideally, AthenaHealth
• Proficiency using Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products is necessary
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and minimum state required liability auto insurance
• Extremely strong customer-service orientation and work ethic
• Comfort managing multiple tasks and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment
• Empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
