Role Overview

The Principal Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner performs complex, specialized administrative work to support the Deputy Commissioner with office-wide initiatives and deliverables. The Principal Assistant serves as a client advocate for all high-profile Public Assistance and social service inquiries sent directly to the Deputy Commissioner from the Mayor's Office, the Commissioner's Office, elected officials, and community-based organizations.

What You Will Do

Provide a swift resolution to all high-profile inquiries, track client inquiries, analyze trends, develop monthly reports, liaise with HR and Finance, draft correspondence, and ensure compliance with guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree, two years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, and one year of administrative or supervisory experience. The candidate will be able to work independently, exercise judgment and decision-making, and provide excellent customer service.
