Role OverviewThe NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The Principal Cyber Security Technician will contribute to the identification of risks, suggest alternate solutions, and define secure systems configurations.
What You Will Do
The Principal Cyber Security Technician will apply and maintain specific security measures, support investigation of suspected attacks, and follow standard approaches for technical assessment of information systems. They will also carry out routine operational procedures, monitor infrastructure performance, and resolve issues.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of practical experience in implementing and maintaining cyber security systems, a good understanding of cyber security systems, and the ability to work independently to solve problems.
Requirements
- Secondary educational qualification with 3 years post-related experience
- At least 4 years practical experience of implementation and maintenance of cyber security systems within a large organization
- Working experience administrating and monitoring cyber security software
- Good understanding of cyber security systems and the ability to work independently to solve problems
- Working experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing technical support to end-users
- Detailed knowledge and working experience of security and networking technologies including IPv4, Firewalls, Virtual Private Networks, Proxy Servers, Intrusion Detection and Forensic tools
- A thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential
