Job Description
The Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) is responsible for scheduling and managing small to medium projects or co-managing large ones, serving as field lead for Phase I-III fieldwork, and conducting research associated with archaeological investigations.

Requirements

  • Conducts archaeological field work with the ability to identify artifacts and determine the presence of archaeological sites
  • Collects data and field samples during archaeological investigations
  • Analyzes historic and pre-historic artifacts and features
  • Documenting methodologies and findings of research and archaeological investigations
  • Reviews and writes portions of archaeological reports and prepares archaeological site forms
  • Assists in making decisions about project alternatives and the resolution of adverse effects to archaeological resources
  • Works with technical field, lab and office staff, managers (Senior Archaeologist/Section Head) and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet ours and professional quality standards
