Job Description
Operates as a key staff resource applying engineering and business skills to carry out core functions in a hands-on manufacturing process, including developing and maintaining technical competency, providing technical research, and driving operational excellence projects.

Requirements

  • Develops and maintains technical competency in core products, customer requirements, and manufacturing processes
  • Provides technical research to manufacturing focused on product and process improvement
  • Remains current on new technology options for Ametek products and manufacturing processes
  • Develops and drives operational excellence projects
  • Supports safety improvements of equipment and processes
  • Generates new/updated Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Process Control Plans
  • Manages Engineering projects across the BU
  • Generates reports to document and communicate Engineering activities
  • Works with Maintenance and others to originate Capital Appropriation Requests
  • Performs Root Cause/Failure Analysis of products during manufacturing
  • Define production structures for orders to be manufactured
  • Review manufacturing capabilities for quote reviews with commercial department
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing problems on the floor with operators
  • Optimize yields via product set up
  • Work with vendors, customers, and cross-functional teams to solve problems
