Role Overview

This is a support staff role within the Administration Bureau. The selected candidate will serve as a Procurement Generalist, responsible for managing the purchasing of all goods and services required for the agency's mission. The Procurement Generalist will report directly to the Director of Procurement and be responsible for various duties including processing requisitions, vendor support, customer support, and payment processing.

What You Will Do

The Procurement Generalist will be responsible for processing requisitions, supporting negotiations with vendors, providing customer support, processing payments, and resolving procurement or payment issues with vendors. They will also be responsible for processing travel requests, maintaining office records, and providing support for special projects.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field, and knowledge of New York City Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules. Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a related field
  • Knowledge of New York City Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules
  • Familiarity with the Financial Management Systems (FMS); Procurement and Sourcing Solution Portal (Passport); Office of Citywide Procurement (OCP); and the Payee Information Portal (PIP)
  • Strong record keeping skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work well with others to resolve issues
  • Excellent verbal, written, research and professional interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
