Role Overview

The Procurement Supervisor will assist with supervision of Procurement Specialists and Buyers, leading and ensuring that District policies, procedures, and processes are followed in all Procurement activities to maximize service quality and influence the “total-cost-to-own” of needed materials and services.

What You Will Do

The incumbent will provide process leadership and direction for procurement activities, work collaboratively with others, and participate on District teams/projects. They will also assist with making informed, effective recommendations and decisions, and assist with the identification and implementation of opportunities for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area
  • Five years of professional level experience in industry, business, accounting, accounts payable, management, supplier development, strategic sourcing, procurement, buying, contract preparation, supplier negotiations, supplier selection, contract administration, and materials management
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents
  • Commercial analysis, reducing costs, improving service, negotiation, developing procurement documents, letters of intent, supplier development and performance, Personal Computer (PC) literacy, and multi-task project experience
  • Experience with SAP, procurement for nuclear facilities or similar, and knowledge of state statute requirements regarding procurement for public utilities
