Job Description
Role Overview

The Production Safety Specialist reports to the Plant Manager and assists in the creation, execution, and upkeep of safety protocols and procedures within the production environment. This is achieved through active presence on the production floor, conducting data and program analyses, providing training, fostering a culture of safety, and overseeing administrative responsibilities associated with safety initiatives.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement safety and ergonomic programs for production; Establish standards, guidelines, and procedures, including creating educational and training materials as needed for CPR, first aid, ammonia awareness etc. Partner with management and lead workplace incidents, complete root cause analysis, and recommend prevention measures.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of previous food production and safety experience, OSHA familiarity, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced GMP environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of previous food production and safety experience
  • OSHA familiarity for food production environment
  • Osha 10 & 30 certification a plus
  • Strong critical thinking skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced GMP environment
  • Clear communication and coaching skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
