Role OverviewThe Safety Specialist reports to the Plant Manager and provides support with developing, implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures within production. This role contributes to the safety and ergonomics of Associates by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards and risks.
What You Will Do
Develop and implement safety and ergonomic programs for production; Establish standards, guidelines, and procedures, including creating educational and training materials as needed for CPR, first aid, ammonia awareness etc. Partner with management and lead workplace incidents, complete root cause analysis, and recommend prevention measures.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of previous food production and safety experience
- Osha familiarity for food production environment
- Osha 10 & 30 certification a plus
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
- Cold working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in cold temperatures
