Production Technician

This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures. The Machine Operator I will operate production or warehouse machines that are similar and require limited set up and basic machine adjustments, perform preventative maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine issues following established policies and procedures.

What You Will Do

A typical work day may include setup similar machines with limited setup requirements, feed materials into machine, operate and monitor short-cycle machine operation with frequent guidance and make adjustments to ensure product specifications are met, use hand and power tools to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot basic machine issues, escalating broader machine issues, track production and quality records both manually and electronically, operate powered mobile equipment including forklift or pallet jack, unload and prepare product for movement of finished product.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems, prior experience in production related work, prior experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment, prior experience mixing materials or working with raw materials, prior experience operating a pallet mill.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Be 18 years or older
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts with advance notice
