Role OverviewResponsible for safely operating production machines, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to meet customer demand. Participate in Plant Safety Committee and follow Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs).
What You Will Do
Perform a variety of tasks in the assigned department, including housekeeping, cleaning, and quality control. Learn and understand machine capabilities and capacity, and assist with driving efficiencies and minimizing waste and downtime.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to work overtime as necessary, and have strong attention to detail for quality control. Must be able to read and follow instructions, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior work experience in the packaging industry (paper, plastics, converting)
- 6 months' experience in some type of manufacturing operation
- Ability to read and follow instructions, quality, safety, job packets
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate
