Role OverviewThe Program Assistant provides 24-hour awake coverage and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shelter, ensuring the welfare, safety, and comfort of guests. The PA works closely with clients, case managers, and other essential shelter staff to empower guests to transition toward stability and self-sufficiency.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include ensuring daily/weekly/monthly schedule of housekeeping maintenance tasks are completed, assigning volunteer tasks, ensuring safety and security, responding to potential emergencies, and supporting daily scheduled resident activities and events.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with program participants and refer them to case management staff
- Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of persons who are materially poor and/or homeless
- Ability to organize oneself, one's work, and other persons sufficiently to accomplish the required daily tasks
