Job Description
The Western States Program Director is responsible for aligning UCS's activities with programmatic and organizational goals in California and Oregon. The Director leads a team of team members, manages the West State's budget, advises leadership, and advocates for the organization. They will also contribute to cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders and promoting a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Ten-fifteen years of successful comparable experience in the field and/or California policy/political arenas.
  • Strong technical and/or policy expertise in a relevant energy or climate discipline.
  • Experience with policy development, academic/research experience, and fundraising.
  • Experience leading a program/campaign or a collaborative project.
  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Inclusive leadership and management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
