Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Children & Youth Services (CYS) Program Manager, the CYS Program Leader II provides services and supports for individuals with disabilities. The Program Leader II is responsible for a variety of activities such as planning and leading opportunities for growth and development, working directly with individuals to encourage participation in activities, providing instruction, and carrying out supports related to the physical well-being and comfort of persons served.

What You Will Do

Provide instruction, support, and supervision to one or more persons served in a variety of activities and environments. Assist individuals with daily living skills as needed. Provide physical assistance to persons served, including transferring, pushing wheelchairs, and loading/unloading from vehicles.

They will also be able to work effectively with a variety of personalities and be sensitive to the needs/communication of persons with differing abilities.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts degree or higher preferred
  • High School graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One-year related experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
  • Four years general paid work experience OR combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and other laws – preferred
  • Working effectively with a variety of personalities and to be sensitive to the needs/communication of persons with differing abilities
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and projects with varying time sensitive deadlines
  • Proficient and competent in the latest versions of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) FileMaker, Windows and Macintosh programs/operating systems, email, and Internet
