Role OverviewThe Program Specialist provides essential support for SFBN Induction Training, delivering both virtual and in-person classroom instruction. This includes facilitating lectures, guiding hands-on activities, troubleshooting issues, conducting case reviews, and completing other tasks as needed to support the training team. The position operates within the Human Services Agency (HSA), supporting either the Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) unit or the SF Benefits Net On-The-Job (SFBN OJT) Training team.
What You Will Do
Deliver classroom instruction, facilitate lectures, guide hands-on activities, troubleshoot issues, conduct case reviews, and complete other tasks as needed to support the training team. Manage classroom operations, including monitoring trainee attendance and behavior, maintaining accurate tracking records, and escalating behavioral concerns as needed.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have three years of experience in the Social Services field, performing duties in the area of eligibility determination, case management, data management, employment services, or training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience working with social service programs, particularly CalFresh and Medi-Cal, are desirable qualifications.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in the Social Services field performing duties in the area of eligibility determination, case management, data management, employment services, or training.
- Ability to work in a typical office environment, including sitting, standing, and lifting 5-10 lbs.
- Ability to travel to different sites and conduct home visits
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Experience working with social service programs, particularly CalFresh and Medi-Cal
