Role OverviewThe Project Coordinator will support the design and development of construction-ready plans for bicycle infrastructure projects across all five boroughs of New York City. The selected candidate will help advance safe, high-quality street designs that reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries, improve mobility, and encourage a shift to sustainable transportation modes in support of the NYC Streets Plan.
What You Will Do
The candidate will develop detailed proposed street designs, create comprehensive AutoCAD drawings, ensure designs comply with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NYC DOT standards, perform basic traffic operations analyses using Synchro, and manage multiple concurrent design projects.

Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD design with minimum of 2 years of experience producing construction-ready civil engineering or transportation design drawings
- Experience with survey data, existing conditions mapping, and incorporating field measurements into designs
- Familiarity with Synchro traffic analysis software and an understanding of basic traffic operations principles
- Understanding of roadway design principles, geometric design, and complete streets concepts
- Knowledge of protected bicycle lane design standards and implementation best practices
- Experience applying MUTCD, AASHTO, and NACTO design guidelines
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for creating presentation graphics and visualizations
- Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS software for spatial analysis and mapping
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
