Role OverviewThe Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, designing, conducting outreach, and implementing Street Improvement Projects to improve safety for pedestrians, motor vehicles, bicyclists, transit riders, and motorcyclists. The position will focus on incorporating proven safety treatments to improve safety for all users as part of DOT's commitment to Vision Zero and improving the safety, reliability, and accessibility of transit corridors.
What You Will Do
Key tasks for this position include performing research and crash analysis to identify high crash locations, scoping and designing safety improvement projects for high crash locations, analyzing traffic data, preparing reports/graphics and maps, conducting field work including on-site evaluations and field meetings, coordinating project implementation, and providing technical assistance to senior staff.

Requirements
- Master's degree in transportation engineering, mathematics, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, or related physical and social science fields
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in AutoCAD, GIS, and traffic engineering software
- Knowledge of traffic calming, urban design, pedestrian-oriented design, complete streets, and traffic engineering

- 2 or more yrs. City Service - Minimum Incumbent Rate: $76,279
