Role OverviewThe Transportation Planning and Management Division (TPM) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods on the City's streets. The Research, Implementation, and Safety Unit (RIS) is a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to making the streets of New York City safer for all users as part of Vision Zero. The RIS’ Safety Projects and Programs team is seeking a Project Coordinator to plan, develop, design, conduct outreach, and implement Street Improvement Projects to improve safety for pedestrians, motor vehicles, bicyclists, transit riders, and motorcyclists.
What You Will Do
Key tasks for this position include performing research and crash analysis to identify high crash locations, scoping and designing safety improvement projects for high crash locations, analyzing traffic data, preparing reports/graphics and maps, conducting field work, coordinating project implementation, and providing technical assistance to senior staff.

Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in AutoCAD, GIS, and traffic engineering software
- Knowledge of traffic calming, urban design
