Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of large-scale commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership throughout all phases of construction.

What You Will Do

Support commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction and project kickoff through completion and closeout. Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, transmittals, procurement logs, and closeout documentation.

Why It Might Be a Fit

2+ years of experience in commercial construction, project engineering, or electrical construction. Experience with an electrical contractor, specialty contractor, or commercial subcontractor is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, project engineering, or electrical construction
  • Experience with an electrical contractor, specialty contractor, or commercial subcontractor is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial electrical systems, construction methods, and field operations
  • Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and construction documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and schedules
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn all aspects of electrical project management
  • Comfortable working with both office-based project teams and field personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across active projects
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Detroit metropolitan area
