Role Overview

As Scout's Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, design, and construction planning of Scout's utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects. You will support the Engineering & Preconstruction team's scope of work for all projects from early development through to notice to proceed. You will report to Scout's Preconstruction Manager and may be assigned other duties to support Scout's growth as technical experts in renewable energy systems.

What You Will Do

Prepare conceptual plant designs, cost estimates, project schedules, and risk registers for Development projects. Conduct technical due diligence reviews of new project opportunities, including travelling to preconstruction project sites and preparing site visit reports. Lead project coordination activities, such as managing work orders, design/proposal reviews, and other administrative tasks to support the Engineering and Preconstruction managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Related Field
  • Entry level to 5 years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of electric power systems, design, and operation
  • Experience with utility scale wind, solar, or battery systems is preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral/written communication skills for working with customers
  • Collaboration and team-oriented, hands-on field work and client-focused
  • Ability to learn new programs and industry jargon
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time management
  • Proficient with computers and strong working knowledge of MS Excel, SharePoint, and other software tools
