Job Description
Haydon is a construction company that offers a wide range of services including commercial building, heavy civil, preconstruction, landscape, and building information modeling. The company is looking for a project estimator to work on negotiated commercial projects, working closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors. The estimator will be responsible for developing estimates, preparing quantity takeoff, and coordinating with the operations team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent, and 1-5 years of experience in estimating, cost control, and/or engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 1-5 years of experience in estimating, cost control, and/or engineering
  • Understanding of estimating techniques, all trade disciplines, cost control systems, and accounts
  • Understanding of the project life cycle, including bid, proposal, estimation process, and project management
  • Ability to read and navigate through drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate to drive revenue
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including experience with scheduling and bid/estimating software
