Job Description
The position of Property Specialist is a NON-SWORN position in the Bureau of Support Services, Quartermaster Section of the Department of Financial Services. The Property Specialist will assist the Division's Quartermaster in researching, ordering, purchasing, issuing, and receiving equipment. They will also perform administrative functions of the Office of Professional Development and maintain all assigned equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its’ equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in one or more of the following areas: Records, Property Inventory Control, Warehousing, and/or purchasing
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40lbs
  • Ability to provide effective customer service
  • Ability to research, collect, evaluate, and analyze data to present in written report format
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Applies spatial awareness and control to prevent damage and ensure optimal vehicle placement
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely and efficiently across urban and interstate routes, with advanced skill in maneuvering and parking in tight or congested environments
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices
  • Knowledge of criminal justice and fire service equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word Excel, and Outlook, and the ability and skills to effectively use this software
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection
  • Maintains composure under pressure and ensures timely arrivals while prioritizing safety and compliance
  • Skill in operating motor vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems and traffic patterns, with the ability to plan efficient routes and adapt quickly to changing road conditions, detours, or delays
