Job Description
Mercor is seeking a highly experienced structural biologist for a contract role as a Protein Design Expert. The role involves developing candidate problem ideas, iterating with the team, and evaluating model design decisions. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in protein-design and expertise in areas such as binder design and enzyme engineering.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent industry track record in protein-design
  • Expertise in binder design, FEP/ddG, enzyme engineering, or structure-guided med chem
  • Ability to pose and evaluate long-horizon design problems
  • Comfort with evaluating reasoning quality and model outputs
  • Quick iteration capability with multi-day turnaround on drafts
