Role OverviewThe PSR Teacher at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School/Parish provides faith formation and religious education to students enrolled in the Parish School of Religion (PSR) program. This role supports the mission of the Catholic Church by fostering students' spiritual growth, teaching Catholic doctrine, and preparing students to live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
What You Will Do
Plan and teach weekly religion lessons aligned with the parish curriculum and Archdiocesan guidelines. Prepare students for sacramental programs including Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Lead students in prayer and participate in liturgical celebrations, retreats, and parish faith formation activities. Track attendance, student progress, and communicate with parents and parish staff.

Requirements
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred
- Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, traditions, and sacramental preparation
- Experience teaching, catechizing, or working with children and youth preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Ability to foster meaningful relationships with students and families
- Completion of Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and background screening
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church
