Job Description
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services has a career opportunity for a Psychiatrist within the Montana State Hospital. The role collaborates with leaders from multiple disciplines to enhance staff knowledge, skills, and abilities critical for high performance. This position provides diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric inpatients through supervision of multidisciplinary treatment teams, direct service psychotherapy-chemotherapy, and preparation of psychiatric-legal evaluations and reports.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of major psychiatric diagnoses and how they interrelate with medical symptoms and illnesses
  • Understanding of psychotherapeutic agents and statutory requirements relating to the practice of medicine
  • Ability to work comfortably within a team-oriented work setting
  • Formal residency training as a psychiatrist yielding demonstrated competence in medical treatment
  • Ability to become licensed to practice medicine in the State of Montana
  • Preferably Board Certified in Psychiatry, or eligible for certification
