Job Description
The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Public Benefits Specialist - Entry to work in the Brookings office. The position involves providing customer service, answering inquiries, and assisting with applications for various benefits programs. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and be committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required
  • Two years of experience working in a reception area or call center
  • An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field
  • Experience in usage and functionality of computers, web browsers, databases, and programs such as Microsoft
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to customers with diverse learning styles and varying levels of familiarity with the subject
  • Experience building relationships with team members and contributing to an inclusive and anti-racist workplace
