Job Description
Public Infrastructure Technician position in the City of Oklahoma City. The position involves locating and marking underground infrastructure, providing technical assistance, and exchanging information with customers and contractors. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of all procedures and equipment used at the job site and must frequently perform these procedures under emergency conditions while maintaining safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of public infrastructure systems and ability to troubleshoot system issues.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using tools and detection equipment necessary to locate underground infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of and skill in following procedures for locating and marking underground infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and understand technical data such as maps, engineering plans, and as-builts drawings.
  • Ability to accurately obtain and record information in computerized systems.
  • Ability to calculate collection/distribution system flow rates.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate with contractors and the public using tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform work duties while under pressure.
  • Ability and willingness to provide training and/or technical assistance to coworkers.
  • Willingness to assume responsibility for work performed.
  • Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator).
