Role Overview

Join Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit, charitable health system, as a Public Safety Officer I. The role involves day-to-day protection and security of the health system's assets and information, as well as the safety of all persons on hospital property. The incumbent Officer proactively guards against fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

Perform all duties and responsibilities related to the protection and security of Southcoast Health System and Southcoast Hospitals Group assets and information, as well as the safety of all persons on hospital property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associates degree preferred.
  • Prior military, security, corrections, police, or relevant experience a plus.
  • Must have, or have the ability to obtain within a six month to one-year period, a Massachusetts Fire Arms Identification Card, and License to Carry Firearms (Pistol Permit).
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) De-Escalation Training; OC Pepper (OCAT), Handcuffing (PATH), Baton (PPBT) education and training within 120 days of hire.
  • BLS, CPR and First Responder certification required within 120 days of hire.
  • Must obtain International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification within one year of appointment.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
