Role Overview

The Public Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the protection and safety of residents, staff, and site, while also maintaining resident confidentiality and completing various tasks such as check-in and check-out processes, security checks, and reporting issues to the supervisor.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of this role include conducting monitoring activities, maintaining records, helping residents understand and follow policies, and completing various reports and paperwork.

The Public Safety Officer must also be able to lift and carry heavy objects and pass a Federal Bureau of Prisons background check.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and apply interpersonal and crisis management skills
  • Ability to learn and implement safe evacuation and disaster procedures
  • Ability to exhibit calming presence and interact in a polite, courteous, professional manner
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs unassisted safely and carefully
  • Ability to pass Federal Bureau of Prisons background check
  • Ability to obtain first aid and CPR certification
  • Valid NY State Identification
