Job Description
Role Overview

As a Public Safety Officer at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth, you will be responsible for conducting proactive interior and exterior rounds to prevent and identify potential criminal activity, responding to public safety calls, and providing coverage at the Switchboard, Communication and Dispatch Center. You will also act as a liaison between the hospital and local emergency services and utilize CCTV systems to identify and address public safety concerns.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing patient watches and monitoring, rounding, parking lot audits, and post assignments as directed by the Post Orders. You will also be required to de-escalate crisis situations through verbal de-escalation techniques and maintain a clean and organized post, equipment, and vehicle.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires a thorough working knowledge of the hospital environment and previous/current law enforcement and/or military experience is preferred. You will be required to obtain and maintain MA LTC within 6 months of employment and maintain MA Driver's License. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to utilize a telephone, computer, communications, and dispatch software.

Requirements

  • Thorough working knowledge of the hospital environment
  • Previous/current law enforcement and/or military experience
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience in a related role
  • Ability to utilize a telephone, computer, communications, and dispatch software
  • High school diploma or equivalent
