Role Overview

The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) is seeking a Public Safety Training Specialist 1 to deliver pre-designed curriculum within the Scenario and Tactical Skills Program. The successful candidate will work in DPSST's Skills Training Section and instruct students in various programs, including Basic Police Program, Basic Corrections, and Liquor & Cannabis Inspector Program.

What You Will Do

The Public Safety Training Specialist 1 will work in DPSST's Skills Training Section, delivering structured training sessions and on-the-job training. The successful candidate will instruct students in various programs, including Basic Police Program, Basic Corrections, and Liquor & Cannabis Inspector Program.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of professional level experience related to scenario or tactical skills instruction
  • Experience in delivering structured training sessions or on-the-job training
  • Ability to readily adapt to unanticipated challenges
  • Experience as a coach or mentor
  • Strong operational experience applying adult learning theory
