Role OverviewThe Public Utilities Engineer will conduct inspections and investigations of natural gas, propane, and steam facilities, and review operators' programs, plans, procedures, policies, maps, records, and other documents to determine compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations. The incumbent will also conduct engineering studies, evaluate the physical condition of plant and equipment, and assist in rate filings and consumer complaints.
What You Will Do
Conduct inspections and investigations of natural gas, propane, and steam facilities, review operators' programs, plans, procedures, policies, maps, records, and other documents, conduct engineering studies, evaluate the physical condition of plant and equipment, assist in rate filings and consumer complaints, and participate in hearings, rate cases, informal conferences, technical sessions, meetings, and operator training.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of full-time or equivalent part-time technical or professional experience in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering work, with at least two years in a professional capacity. The incumbent must also possess a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
