Role OverviewThe City of Lake Alfred is seeking a dependable and hardworking Service Worker II to support the daily operation, maintenance, and care of City streets, right-of-ways, stormwater systems, utilities infrastructure, and various City facilities.
What You Will Do
Maintain City streets, alleys, right-of-ways, stormwater facilities, and City-owned buildings. Perform routine grounds and roadway maintenance, operate lawn equipment, hand tools, small power tools, light trucks, and other mechanized equipment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to perform heavy manual labor, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and safely operate motorized vehicles and all manual/electric tools required for assignments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in street, grounds, or similar maintenance work (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Class B CDL required or ability to obtain within one year of hire
