Role Overview

The Publication Specialist 1 will provide outline content for semi-annual display change-outs, research needed artifacts, and create content for video displays and information cards. They will also collaborate with Visual Communications to create banners, displays, and other visual content. The role requires preparing artifacts for transport to the academy, removing current display items, and requesting video copies from the Photo Lab. The Publication Specialist 1 will also reach out to retirees and other groups to solicit donations of specific artifacts.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Publication Specialist 1 include creating and writing content for video displays and information cards, proofreading and editing final copy of printed materials, finding and editing photos to accompany displays, and collaborating with Visual Communications to create banners and displays.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of training or experience in preparing various forms of literature for publication, or completion of an undergraduate core program in journalism. The candidate should be able to provide detailed descriptions of their current and previous work duties, and tailor their application to each position they apply for.
