Role Overview

The Publicity Assistant supports the publicity efforts of the Press by participating in the planning and execution of seasonal and title-specific publicity plans. They are responsible for the nomination and submission process for the awards program, in collaboration with the Acquisitions department. They also coordinate the purchase of services and payment of invoices for the department.

What You Will Do

Creates and implements publicity plans, assembles and orders print galleys, handles mailing of galleys and finished books to media, maintains and improves department database of review contacts and review lists, creates and circulates weekly publicity newsletter, manages publicity department email inbox, reads, excerpts, and posts review quotes from all media into publishing management system, and responsible for payment of invoices.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Three or more years of related experience, demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, college degree strongly preferred, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required, ability to work quickly and accurately on detailed projects in a fast-paced setting with a concern for meeting deadlines.
