Role Overview

This role is with the Texas Workforce Commission in the VR Contract Administration Services department, based in Austin, Texas. The position involves performing technical, research, planning, and administrative activities related to agency procurements and contracts. The work is in-person with weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams.

What You Will Do

You will assist in developing specifications for purchasing goods and services, conduct surveys and research to determine appropriate specifications, review and evaluate information to develop solicitation instruments, and assist in developing project budgets. You will also serve on behalf of senior procurement staff in resolving issues with vendors.

Requirements

  • Certified Texas Purchasing Manager or Certified Texas Contract Developer (must be obtained within six months of hiring if not previously obtained)
  • Three (3) years of government purchasing experience in Texas
  • Experience drafting requests for proposals, requests for offers, requests for information, invitations for bid, sole source justifications, procurement templates and documents for procurements in a government purchasing office
  • Two years of experience in the purchasing and procurement of goods and services
