Role OverviewThe Purchasing Agent will be responsible for communicating component requirements to potential supply sources, assuring strict conformance to Konecranes product specifications and quality program. They will work with internal and external functional groups to assure timelines, cost structure, and contractual obligations are realized.
What You Will Do
The responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent will include sourcing and negotiating the most favorable overall 'value' and lead-time without compromising quality or customer requirements. They will also perform continuous system maintenance and review open purchase requisitions.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in a Procurement role, working with commodity-based buying and one-off quantities. They will also have knowledge of heavy steel and associated processes, including welding and machining.
Requirements
- 5 years working experience within a Procurement role
- Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints
- Knowledge of heavy steel and associated processes
- Knowledge of SAP, Oracle or other ERP system
- Excellent personal computer skills
- Ability to work in a team structured, fast paced, and multitasking work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be efficient, highly organized, motivated and detail oriented
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel experience
- Ability to travel approximately up to 20%
