Job Description
Austin Industrial delivers premier maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to leading industrial companies across the U.S. Ensures welding work is safe and ready to function as part of the structure or device it is a part of. Conducts inspections to ensure safety regulations are followed and that welders and their workplaces are safe.

Requirements

  • Perform daily inspections at project sites, focusing on welding, structural, and civil work
  • Monitor the progress of construction and ensure all processes are compliant with standards
  • Draft daily reports based on site observations, highlighting discrepancies or safety issues
  • Report non-compliance or other issues to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager
  • Coordinate inspections to ensure that work aligns with client specifications and state laws
  • Map out welds to be performed and flag those for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) when needed
  • Perform Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) of welds, as necessary
  • Fully inspect welds before and after the hydrostatic testing of welded piping or vessels
  • Witness the hydrostatic testing (hydro) of welded piping or vessels to ensure integrity and compliance
  • Collaborate effectively with client QA teams to address quality concerns and ensure quality assurance standards are met
  • Indirectly supervise the work of welders in the Operations Department, ensuring they adhere to Austin Industrial's policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Supervise employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating performance
  • Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure successful project completion
