Role OverviewThe Qatqiññiaġvik CTE Intensive Instructor will guide students in acquiring basic skills, knowledge, and attitudes in career and technical education, with a focus on small engines. The instructor will provide individualized instruction, varying materials and methodology based on frequent assessment. The position is part of a non-benefitted grant-funded program.
What You Will Do
The instructor will consult with the Qatqiññiaġvik CTE Director and Manager in program development, create a culturally safe and responsive instructional environment, and promote a Grow Your Own career path for middle school and high school students.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with culturally safe and responsive practices, trauma-engaged practices, and positive school climate and restorative practices. Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience is also preferred.
Requirements
- Alaska Teaching certificate with an endorsement in a CTE field
- Minimum of Alaska Type M certification in area of CTE
- Knowledge & experience with culturally safe and responsive practices
- Knowledge & experience in trauma-engaged practices
- Positive school climate and restorative practices
- Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience
