Role OverviewThe Quad Advisor plays a key role in helping students build a strong academic foundation while fostering a sense of belonging within the residential and academic community. This position reports to a Senior Quad Advisor and works closely with faculty, deans, and campus partners to provide integrated academic support and programming.
What You Will Do
Advise first- and second-year students on course selection, Trinity curriculum requirements, and major exploration. Assist students in understanding academic policies, degree timelines, grading options, and related institutional regulations. Monitor academic progress and maintain detailed, confidential advising records.

- Clear and effective communication (written and verbal) with students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other student support offices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple advising caseloads and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to keep accurate records and document advising interactions
- Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Duke Hub, Stellic, or similar)
- Proficiency using learning management systems, advising software, and virtual advising tools
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, or other relevant confidentiality regulations
