Job Description
The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure the quality of their software. The role requires experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and strong communication and problem-solving skills. The analyst will coordinate with software engineers and testing teams, train IT staff on SE procedures, and perform quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with program documentation and procedural standards.
Requirements
-Develop software engineering (SE) policies, procedures, and templates required for use in AS and work with the team to update SOPs in the IT Handbook.
-Coordinate with software engineers and testing teams to plan release schedules and ensure the quality and efficiency of each release.
-Train IT staff on SE procedures and templates, provides Tier 1 support to Applications Solutions staff on SE practice.
-Perform random sampling of SE efforts for QA compliance with a goal of helping staff and teams improve the quality of their work.
-Review or assist in reviewing documentation and perform quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with program documentation and procedural standards for the assigned project.
-Assist in the diagnosis of problems associated with automated applications and write detailed specifications for developing or correcting software for handling complex processes to improve system performance and/or accuracy.
-Report work progress, risks, and issues to manager and leadership.
-Responsible for ensuring templates and standards are in line with the Department of Informational Resources (DIR).
-Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, policies, and procedures including IT Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that govern TWC IT.
-Contribute to teamwork and communicate effectively.
-Promote an image of IT excellence.
-Maintain a reliable predictable work schedule.
-May serve as backup to the Manager.
-May be called upon to work outside of normal business hours to complete urgent assignments or troubleshoot critical issues.
-Perform other duties as assigned to maintain IT operations.
