Job Description
Role Overview

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will monitor, sample, and record food-safe production practices throughout the facility, prioritizing personnel and food safety at all times. You will work on the 3rd shift, Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm, with weekends as needed. You will be responsible for notifying management of observed needs on the production floor relating to quality or food safety.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include investigating and analyzing product or raw material quality problems, developing and implementing corrective measures, and auditing sample data for use in the plant's IPM System. You will also identify process problems through statistical analysis and suggest corrective measures to improve manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2-year degree in laboratory / food science, or equivalent prior experience in food quality assurance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, SPC fundamentals, and laboratory skills
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food safety compliance
  • Solid computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to function and contribute in a team environment
  • AIB or other food industry training is a plus
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to visually inspect product and facility
