Role OverviewThe Quality Control Technician works under general supervision to assure the quality of products made at the plant. This position conducts laboratory tests to ensure products meet specifications (i.e., ASTM, AASHTO). The employee is responsible for working safely and engaging in the company's See Stop Do culture.
What You Will Do
Perform laboratory tests to ensure products meet specifications, conduct chemical and/or physical tests on raw materials and fuels, and monitor and change process/quality parameters. Notify the Site Manager of any out-of-specification samples or problems.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To succeed in this position, you will need high school graduation or equivalent, minimum 1 year of experience performing relevant tests in a cement laboratory environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing relevant tests in a cement laboratory environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Knowledge of chemical testing, including wet chemical analysis, and physical testing procedures.
- Ability to develop and follow comprehensive technical directions.
- Ability to operate all laboratory equipment, including balances, muffle furnace, physical testing equipment, and laboratory computer.
