Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished materials to ensure products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of inspection techniques and the use of measurement equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform dimensional measurements to ensure products meet specifications
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete projects on schedule
Willingness to learn and grow with increased responsibility
Experience with ERP or quality documentation systems
Familiarity with inspection reporting software or digital quality records
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for dimensional reporting and documentation
Experience working within a formal Quality Management System (ISO preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Ability to sit intermittently while completing inspections, documentation, or reporting
Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle parts and operate precision measuring instruments
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and move around machinery and workstations as needed
Visual ability to inspect small details, detect defects, and accurately read measuring instruments and technical documents
Ability to distinguish color, surface finish differences, and material irregularities when inspecting parts
Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, moving equipment, and standard shop conditions
