Job Description
SGS is seeking a Quantitative Biometrician Forester to analyze forest carbon data and contribute to carbon offset and verification projects. The role involves statistical modeling, data management, and collaboration with forestry validation and verification staff. This position requires strong knowledge of forest biometrics, statistics, and remote sensing technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or statistics
  • University coursework in forest biometrics, sampling design and statistics
  • At least two years of experience sampling, developing, implementing, and analyzing forest biomass or carbon inventories
  • Prior auditing experience
  • Strong knowledge of forest biometrics, statistics, growth and yield models
  • Knowledge using remote sensing technologies (e.g., ArcMap)
  • Quality assessments, record-keeping, and data processing
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
  • Frequent travel (34%-66%)
