Job Description
We are seeking a Radiation Control Technician to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. The role involves providing radiological support in workplace surveillance, monitoring, and analysis/interpretation of radiological data.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
  • Ability to meet requirements outlined in DOE Order 426.2
  • Strong understanding of radiological control principles, theories, and practices
  • Experience supporting high-hazard radiological environments
  • Knowledge of radiation protection regulations, including 10 CFR 835
  • Ability to follow established procedures, specifications, and safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and 24/7 coverage as needed
  • Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, crawl, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to use ladders and stairways
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities
  • Ability to wear PPE, including respiratory protection
