Job Description
Role Overview

The Radiation Therapist is an essential member of the Radiation Oncology team who primarily functions in a specialized area of radiation therapy technology in the role of direct patient care provider in the Radiation Oncology Center. The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the performance of all duties relating to the administration of a prescribed course of Radiation Therapy.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: accurately and efficiently reviewing and/or administering daily prescribed Radiation Therapy treatments to patients assigned to the treatment unit, observing and adhering to all department policies concerning Radiation Therapy treatment procedures, and maintaining current knowledge of therapeutic procedures performed in the Radiation Oncology Department.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will possess basic knowledge of Radiation Oncology equipment function to provide for minor repair and troubleshooting for problems, and will be proficient in the utilization of all Radiation Oncology equipment in the department including CT(s).

Requirements

  • One (1) year certificate from college or technical school in Radiation Therapy certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) and American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT)
  • BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
  • License and certification as required by state
