Job Description
The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a Radio Dispatcher to serve as the primary contact for communication among personnel, visitors, and clients at Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare (ABH). The Radio Dispatcher will be responsible for communication, access control, and information management.

Requirements

  • Operates communication equipment professionally and courteously, directing calls and messages to the appropriate personnel or departments
  • Dispatches personnel and equipment as required, and relays or clarifies information as needed
  • Operates overhead paging systems and monitors alarms for fire, pharmacy, and weather, etc.
  • Maintains written and digital logs of staff activity, client movement, and assigned duties
  • Provides directions and greets visitors in person or by phone, including dignitaries and delivery personnel, etc.
  • Oversee & issue passes and tags for all visitors and contractors
  • Attends required training sessions to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role and follows agency policies on computer and software usage
