Job Description
The Financial Counselor serves as Hennepin Healthcare's primary contact for patient reimbursement issues, providing information regarding hospital payment requirements, alternative financing, and charity care programs.

Requirements

  • Meet with patients to obtain valid insurance coverage and review prior accounts to update insurance coverage information
  • Educate patients on applicable policies and assist with enrollment in government assistance programs
  • Collect monies from patients prior to admission and/or discharge, including outstanding accounts receivable
  • Research and rectify special circumstances affecting delayed payment of self-pay accounts
