Role OverviewSafariland is looking for a self-motivated, creative and detail-oriented R&D Design Technician to join our Engineering and Product Development teams. The position works closely with Product Design Engineers, other R&D and CNC Technicians to develop new products for military, law enforcement and commercial applications.
What You Will Do
Design new 2D patterns, transform 2D patterns into 3D thermoformed holster designs, construct holster test samples, perform fit checks of guns and holster combinations, design and produce forming stands, and support Manufacturing Engineering handoff and Production implementation.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Ideal candidate has experience with holster design, laminate manufacturing process, materials and construction, familiarity with handguns, accessories, and their operation, and basic CAD, CNC Router and Laser Engraving experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of pattern making, design or manufacturing experience with thermoforming process fabrication
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and creative drive
- Good communication skills and ability to work constructively with others
- Basic proficiency in spoken and written English
